On thursday we set on journey from
Kuty through Pardubice (where we stopped for lunch), Liberec to Zittau. If you travel with german or a new EC trains, you certainly will know how comfortable, clean and fast they are. On the station waited mums friend Klara for us and took us to her home, where we could stay for few days. I like this type of traveling, when we were visitors, Klara took care of us, she introduces us to her friend Heiner. He works in advertisement, makes posters and know four languages, so we could talk in english together. He was in many cities, ran many marathons in different countries therefore we had something to talk about all the time.
On Friday we visited Gorlitz, small town, lies at the river and people can walk across the bridge and they are in Poland. This I tried (because of my interest on Poland), but that day was very cold so we did only fast tour around both towns in different states. On Germany side we wanted to visit a special sunorgan. Unfortunately we made a mistake and went to another church. Church St. Jacobs was just repaired and closed. We had a luck, some good worker send us to inside so we saw very nice church in good condition.
Next day we went with Klara and Heiner to Dresden by train. We had the good tourist guide- Heiner. He took us for tour in historic centre of Dresden, what we visited you can see on photos. I´m not sure if I can claim that it´s historic centre, because town was bombed and destroyed during II. World War, then they built it again according to original appearance. After registration in our hostel we went also to Neustadt, it´s student quarter with many bars, bakeries and Kunsthofpassage (see on photos).
On Sunday we saw all exposition in barock castle Zwinger. It took more than three hours. Taking photos wasn´t allowed in fine art gallery, unfortunately. Monday was shopping day, we bought some present for family and travel straight to Slovakia.
Overall it was very nice trip to foreign town, staying in hostel with foreign travelers. But my next trip to cities will be during the summer.. In winter I recommended you holiday in some warm country. :)
